General Description
Diolan DLN-1 Interface Adapter with NXP LPC1343 microcontroller is the compact and low-price multi-interface DLN-series adapter with rich capabilities and functionality. Owing to DLN-1 compact parameters and minimal on-board components it can be easily combined with embedded devices which need rich features of several serial interfaces. DLN-1 adapter supports several interfaces: SPI, I2C and GPIO. So DLN-1 gives you rich capabilities of PC-I2C, PC-SPI, PC-GPIO interfaces, eliminating the need to buy additional adapters by cutting down expenses and space. DLN-1 comes with extensively documented open-source application examples in different programming languages, as well as a comprehensive Developer's Guide.
Digital Inputs and Digital Outputs (General Purpose Digital I/O)
There are 32 I/O pins available and can be configured as a general purpose digital input or digital output (GPIO). Each I/O pin is equipped with an embedded pull-up resistor. Pull-up resistors are used to ensure that inputs to I/O lines settle at expected levels, if external devices are disconnected or high-impedance. Diolan DLN-1 Adapter also supports event-driven interface which allows your application be notified when input value changes on specific I/O pin or get event only after specific changes.
DLN-1 also has abilities to operate with ADC (Analog to Digital Conversion), PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and Pulse Counter.
Serial Peripheral Interface Bus (SPI)
DLN-1 SPI Interface supports all 4 SPI modes and frequencies in the range from to. DLN-1 adapter supports only SPI Master Interface and can perform half-duplex (read or write) and full-duplex (simultaneous read/write) data transactions. Each data buffer can contain frames from 8 to 16-bit which can be transmitted over transaction.
DLN-1 USB-SPI interface adapter can operate on 3.3V. However, its SPI interface pins are 5V-tolerant. This allows using DLN-2 adapter with 5V SPI circuits.
Inter-integrated Circuit (I2C)
DLN-1 Interface adapter supports Standard (100 kHz), Fast (400 kHz) and Fast Plus (up to 1 MHz) I2C bus frequency modes.
DLN-1 adapter supports I2C Master Interface with high speed mode up to 1 MHz of frequency. I2C Bus voltage can be supplied by internal pull-ups (3.3V or 5V) ans external pull-ups (2.3V-5V). I2C interface pull-up resistors can be configured with solder bridges.
Supported Operation Systems
DLN-1 USB-I2C/SPI/GPIO Interface adapter can be used in MS Windows environment.
We are currently working on adding support of other operation systems.
USB Interface
DLN-1 and DLN-2 USB-I2C interface adapters are based on full-speed (12 MHz) USB interface.
RoHS
The Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment 2002/95/EC (commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS) was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
DLN-1 adapter is RoHS compliant.
